Flock Browser Rules! No Wonder Ed Dales uses it.

I’ve always thought my buddy Ed Dale was a bit loopy when it comes to web2.0 and social media sites. And the rest of my pals who are into social media (Howie Schwartz, Jack Humprhey’s, and host of other dudes) I labeled 2.0 crack-pots (gotta love it when you can fit 2 drugs into one word).

My beef was usually because I didn’t think the effort or time needed to utilize these services was a wise choice of time management. It seemed much easier to just get joint ventures, buy pay per click traffic, or buy other forms of traffic then it was to hustle around all day with social media sites.

Plus, most of the social media traffic doesn’t convert worth a shit in many situations.

However, after messing around with the Flock browser today, I’m convinced it’s perfect for a ADHD guy like myself.

While I bash the social media sites for business traffic, I do screw off alot on Twitter, Myspace, Facebook etc. I mostly just like to chat with cool peeps, and am not concerned about building business or building lists. I just like to laugh alot.

But as I laugh at these web2.0 sites, and dismiss them as childsplay, I’m beginning to see some decent income and great interaction from them. And the cool thing is I really don’t do much of anything but continue on in my normal web viewing habits.

People just find me, then add me as friends without me doing a damn thing. And the lists and members keep growing. It’s really got me curious about what could happen if I started really blogging alot and providing content to the world of web2.0.

Actually I know exactly what would happen…

I’d get a TON OF VIEWERS.

Here’s why…

In the last couple of hours I’ve been screwing around inside this flock browser. And on the left “sidebar” it has little windows that are connected to my Facebook, Gmail, Flickr, Twitter, Yahoo, WordPress, Blogger, and more to come.

Withing a couple of clicks I can have a blog post to my blogger blog, or a Twit to my Twitter page. This post right here is being wrote inside a window in the Flock browser.

The point is, this browser makes posting content to the web super duper fast. So fast in fact that I actually see how damn powerful this web2.0 stuff could be with a plan laid out. And to be honest, you could yield a bunch of traffic with a crappy plan that sucked as long as you just did something a few minutes a day.

In the last hour I’ve made a few Twitter posts, had all my emails checked, edited photo’s in Flickr, loaded a Jack Johnson video to a Blogger blog, made this post right here, and learned a bunch of other stuff inside of Flock.

And I have a feeling I ain’t even touched a fraction of the cool tools in here.

You can aggregate all your RSS feeds you subscribe to, bring Youtube videos into the media browser, and a host of other things I don’t even know about yet. It’s really sick, and a no brainer to see why Ed would want to use this browser with participants of the “30 Day Challenge“.

Just for the record, Ed’s been talking about Flock for a few years now. I tried it out a few times a couple years ago but it didn’t really catch on with me. After uploading the new version though, I’m floored. It makes me actually want to go out and spread a ton of content with people. Heck, it’s downright fun too (which is the most important thing to me).

I have a good feeling that a lot of marketers and social media nuts are going to be making the switch to Flock once they see how easy it can assist your internet browsing habits.

And even though I thought alot of the web2.0 stuff has been hocus pocus marketing with no true proof of results, I can’t deny the few extra thousand bucks it has helped to bring in this month.

Ultimately I realize it’s just about communication and reaching more people through many different mediums. Makes a lot of sense now and I can see serious ways to leverage more of these tools in a larger fashion.

Thanks Flock for making it easy.

If you want to try out the Flock browser, go to http://www.flock.com

And, if you want to learn all kinds of cool things about web2.0 and making money on the internet (even if you’ve never done it in your entire life) then check out Ed Dale’s free 30 day challenge at…

http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com

It doesn’t cost a dime, and there are tons of helpful, friendly, and cool folks to work side by side with. The 30 day challenge is where I got my start on the internet, and is one of the main reasons I’ve had so much success on the net today.

You’ll learn a lot of really cool stuff for nothing, and just may open a ton of new opportunities for yourself.

Peace,

J-Mo

  1. Thanks for introducing me to the Thirty Day Challenge last year. Life changing information to be sure.

Now I have to kick myself for not following what you were doing more closely.

I coulda been surfing by now.

You really do rock man. Thanks for the insights.

  2. Hey Jason, I have been playing (uh I mean testing) Flock all day and it is truly amazing. I, too feel like I have just touched on how powerful it is…. I did the 30DC last year and posted a video thank you on Ed & Dan’s blog a few weeks ago about my experience. I’m doing it again and Flock got me even more jazzed! They know the coolest tools — still have been resisting friendfeed but guess that’s in the cards….. Love your blog! Thank you! Jenny

  3. by the way if you use the twitter tools wp plugin, then every new post goes into twitter, friendfeed, facebook, and if you have pownce you can make them go there too. Automatic 4 speed.
