The Hidden Force Behind Every Great Relationship (And Business)

Why This One Word Keeps Coming Up in Every Conversation (And Why It Matters More Than Ever)

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been in a whirlwind of conversations with entrepreneurs, creatives, random new connections, and a few old friends. And like some kind of cosmic game of Mad Libs, one word just keeps showing up over and over again.

I won’t spoil it just yet (though if you watched the video, you already know). But let’s just say it’s a word that hits deep. A word that’s easy to forget in our hyper-connected, screen-obsessed, AI-saturated lives… yet it’s also the one thing that makes life, business, and relationships actually work.

I sat down and jammed on this for a bit in a recent video. No script. No agenda. Just me reflecting on what I’ve been feeling and what I’m seeing all around.

Let’s be real. The internet’s done a great job of “connecting” us on a superficial level. We’ve got likes, comments, little heart emojis, and algorithmic “you might know this person” nudges. But the real stuff? The stuff that actually makes you feel seen, heard, and valued? That’s getting harder to come by.

Working remotely, living through a pandemic, watching AI clone our voices, it’s all created this strange paradox: we're always online, but we're lonelier than ever.

But here’s the twist… and this is where I get hopeful.

That same tech that pushes us apart? It can also be used to bring us closer if we use it intentionally. I’ve got friends I’ve never met in person, people halfway across the globe I talk to more deeply than some folks I’ve known since the 5th grade. And that’s powerful.

Connection isn’t just about proximity. It’s about presence.

And presence doesn’t take much. It could be a quick voice note. A 10-second video message that says, “Hey, I thought about you today.” Something that tells another human being, “You matter.”

That’s it. That’s the game-changer.

And let’s not forget, this applies to business too. If you’re struggling to sell, grow, or be seen, chances are you’ve got a connection problem, not a conversion problem.

Because at the end of the day, people don’t buy from robots. They buy from people they connect with.

So here’s my challenge to you: Reach out. Be real. Don’t just comment… connect.

Shoot a message. Send a voice memo. Get out of your office cave and go meet someone for coffee. Look someone in the eye. Say their name. Be present, even for 30 seconds.

Because in a world full of noise, your realness is your competitive advantage.

And for those of you who’ve taken the time to connect with me, thank you. Seriously. You’re the reason I even log in sometimes. Your messages, your presence, your care… it matters. Probably more than you know.

Let’s keep this word front and center. Let’s lead with it. And let’s stop pretending emojis are a replacement for soul-level connection.
