Thinking About Taking Back My Blog!

By Jason Moffatt

January 31, 2007

I’ve been thinking alot lately about changing this blog to embrace all the things that I love and enjoy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m into the marketing stuff, but it’s so much more fun to just blog about the ridiculous and crazy stories that I enjoy.

I love loading up idiotic videos that make people laugh, and want a platform to vent my personal feelings. However, I’ve built this blog over time as a marketing blog and last time I checked Google had given me a page rank of 6. Thanks Google! Hopefully it’s still ranked well.

Anyways, I may make some changes around here so that this blog will be whatever the hell I want it to be. One day I may be showing some skateboarding clips, while the next day you might see some scrappy Bum Fights from You Tube.

Truthfully, I’m just getting bored and want to do more fun shit. So don’t be surprised if the Playhouse undergoes some major Tom Foolery type renovations in the next few weeks.

Considering YouTube’s new proposition of paying video producers in the near future, it may not be a bad choice. Plus, I want to express all the cool things that represent my life like music, surfing, friends, and that sort of stuff.

I’m just a bit worried that if I change the content to ridiculous crap that I’m interested in I may lose a ton of relevance from all the links pointing in. O well, it’s my damn blog and I think I’ll just use it however I feel like it.

Maybe I’ll just run my marketing blog from www.profitmoffatt.com

That seems a bit more appropriate.

Get ready for some serious RUCKUS Folks!

  1. Jason, keep up the great work. I reckon you should have TWO blogs. One for marketing, one for fun. They both link to each other and that way you get the best of both worlds.

    Good luck mate!

    Come back to Australia soon.

    Cheers
    Daniel 🙂

  2. Yes Jason,
Keep this blog for all the crazy & wild stuff (like the cab driver stories & getting your face cracked open by India’s surfboard etc… 🙂 …sorry I’m not saying that was funny) and the profitmoffatt for marketing. What a great idea! The best of both worlds. ‘Cause marketing is great & all but the real JMo is just a tiny bit more fun to read.

See ya soon Jason. Say hi to Alison.

  3. Since this is your NAME domain…I would absolutely do the fun thing with it…and profitmoffat seems the best place for *strictly* business.

I’m planning to do that with my name.com

Because one of MY highest values in Life is FUN!

Did you really need anyone’s comments to do what you want?

  4. Jason,

Why not have a mix of both? I like the crazy stories and videos but also like the marketing side too. Everyone else is wayyyyyy to serious so it’s good to see the fun and crazy side.

    Take care,

    Derek Pierce

  5. jason, you turn out high quality material, whatever you name it.A rose by any other name smells as sweet. Good PR always wins, a combo
    would be fine.

    Kind Regards

    Dick.

  6. Hey folks, I thought the general consensus would be to just have fun.

The only reason I am apprehensive is because this blog already has a lot of valuable 1 way links related to marketing and was worried I may be sacrificing that if I turn this blog into a Mad TV type show.

    But o’well. Money ain’t everything!

    Thanks for the input.

    Jason

PS: Trey, nice come up on the dollars buddy!

  7. Fun is the way to go Jason. Get those puppets out and get their freak on. That’s what people want to see. Well, maybe not that specifically, but you get the idea.

  8. Hey.

Someone posted as Trey on here.

(You should totally ban them for stealing my name.)

Dual blog it, dude! This is actually the first marketing blog I started visiting and … well… the only one I still visit 😉
