If you have a dog that sheds hair, this Furminator Dog Brush is going to save your life (and vacuum). Keep reading to find out how I stumbled upon the Furminator Dog Brush and why I love it so much…
A couple weeks ago my buddy Couch Surfing Ori
I love my dog Webber dearly, but am super anxious to have some time to myself where I don’t have to walk, feed and pick up his shit multiple times a day. Recently I placed a ad for a dog walker to take care of some of those things, but I’ve been so damn busy traveling and screwing off I haven’t picked from the hundred or so applicants. I did meet some cool friends from placing that ad though.
So, right before I left for the trip I was giving Ori the lowdown on all the things he needed to do to take care of Webber. I mentioned he may have to vacuum every other day at minimum because Webber’s black fur tends to coat the white carpet in no time. It’s quite a hassle.
That’s when Ori asked me if I’d ever heard of the Furminator? I said no. He suggested I check it out because our friend Craig had one for his dog Bentley and he swore it was amazing. Trusting Ori’s judgement we stopped by the local Pet People store and picked one up.
At first I had to balk at the price tag. $50 dollars for a brush? WTF? I wouldn’t even spend $50 on a brush for myself. Luckily my dog gets a bit more spoiled than even I do at times. Lucky dog.
So I tried this brush and it’s insane. If you have a dog, or cat that sheds fur you absolutely have to get this Furminator brush. I mean, it’s a must have. After having used it, I’d probably pay $150 for this brush and wish I had known about it years ago.
Not only does it shed tons of fur that no longer gets stuck in my carpet, but it also gives Webber’s coat a nice sheen and makes him so soft. It’s worth every penny and then some.
Luckily for you, I found a Amazon link where you can get the thing for around $15 or so. There is no need to spend the $50 like I did. However, I’m not complaining at all. Like I said, I think this brush is worth $100 and I’d gladly pay that much if I had to.
Let me see if I can find a YouTube video demonstrating this thing…
Another cool thing about the Furminator is that most animals really love to be brushed with it. At first it looks a bit intimidating and you may think it would hurt the animal. Not at all.
I can’t recommend this tool enough if you have animals that shed fur. I promise, you will be in love with the thing. You can click here to grab the Furminator for pretty cheap on Amazon.
Cheers.
Jason
PS: Here’s a photo that Ori shot of Webber. Sure miss the pup.

Webber is a Sharpei and Sheppard mix. Tons of people mistake him for a lab or chow as his mix is not that common. I love this doggie so much. I can’t wait to get back to Cali to play with him.
Thankfully, Ori is in love with him too and plays fetch like a maniac with him. Apparently he got Webber some new toy yesterday that has taken his game of fetch to a whole new level. I’m stoked that Webber has a good friend like Ori to play with. It’s really hard for me to trust someone with my dog, but I feel in good hands with Ori.
Thanks buddy.

Use it everyday. Pets Mart has them individually or in bundles… The bundle comes for like $40 with the shampoo and the rubbing brush that loosens the hair alot before shedding… still a pain in the ASS. They need something that will shed them by itself.
Wow, that furminator is something else! I wish I had that when I used to brush the hair off of my husky every spring. I used to fill trash cans (yes that’s plural as in multiple cans) full with his hair…
Awwww shucks! It’s like me and webber got our own post… I”ll read it to him now… he’s still out of breath from our last session with the Tug N Toss (sounds kinda gay… like a reach around rusty trombone combo)– http://www.ethicalpet.com/Purina-Pet-Gear-81/TUG-N-TOSS-2142.html — We managed to lose all the tennis balls, so this was the only thing at the grocery store that I thought he’d enjoy… and boy does he! While my arm was getting stronger from improving my tennis ball throw, Webber would get so much dirt in his mouth. This particular ball doesn’t get the dirt caked up on it, and it’s got more mass, and has the string… so it’s way easier for me to throw it a distance without any effort (except to not get it in the tree). The other secret to get him tired is to play on warmer days 🙂 Makes life a lot easier. Thankfully, I have my ipod, so… I always have an audio book to listen to, so Webber doesn’t have to go in after a mere 5 to 20 minutes (and I feel that my public speaking is improving- that’s what I’ve been listening to lately).
Anyways- he’s the most well behaved dog. I just leave the door open, and he doesn’t even run outside. I don’t have to watch him at the dog beach, ’cause he just wants to play fetch, and can find me easily, he comes immediately when I call him.
It’s exactly the size and behavior of a dog that I was missing having – so.. thanks for that 🙂
I haven’t really used the beach, but I’ve enjoyed the incredible San Diego crowd, weather, and getting things done!
Glad you’re enjoying your trip – see you on the next adventure 🙂
The Furminator works wonders. You just need to brush softly to get the fur coming out in clumps! Thank you Ori for taking such great care of Webber while Jason is RVing. And thank you both for all the wonderful pictures.

Yo Jason – I love the Furminator! I got one for my cat because she has a tail like a feather duster! It works great and my allergies almost went away the second I used it. Great post man!
@Ori – you said “…reach around rusty trombone combo” I think the “reach around” part is a little redundant man. 🙂
