Yesterday I got a call from my buddy Russ asking me whether or not I wanted to head out to the San Diego Wild Animal Park’s new Zipline exhibit called Flightline.
My answer… “Does a bear shit in the woods”?
So, Russ, Frank, John and I headed out to Escondido to give it a shot.
Still being jacked up on pain pills I was a bit sketched out. It wasn’t too bad, but I was a bit on edge. And I’m not exactly big on heights either, and this thing soars well over 500 feet from the ground. As you decend down the drop you cover the whole area of the wild animal park soaring over Rhino’s, Hippos, Lions, and all kinds of crazy wild animals.
It was pretty sweet. Here’s a couple clips from the day…

Now I know why John moved out there. To do all of the crazy fun stuff that you and Frank get to do! Maybe it was that and getting to learn the hood lingo that Frank taught him! Orlando IS getting kind of boring lately. We need something like that here!
Take it easy, Randy
Hi Jason,
Now I totally want to do this, and it’s all your fault! 🙂
I’m headed down there for the day tomorrow to look at places and hopefully sign a lease. Should be moving in July. Looking forward to hanging out with you!

Randy,
Yeah I have a feeling John is going to enjoy himself out here.
Erica,
Good luck on your search, and do get in touch when you get settled in. 🙂
Hi Jason,
I very much enjoyed this video. I wonder though, why no video of you surfing with Frank? I recall one video where Frank has 15+ surfboards. It would be neat to see a video of you all surfing sometime since you do it so much.

Hey Nameer,
Funny you should ask. I just hooked up with a few video guys that are going to be doing some filming of us surfing. However, we aren’t really filming it to show off considering we are total Barney’s. Frank is the self admitted 9th worst surfer in California.
However, we want to footage just to watch and review the progress we are making while surfing. Who knows, I’ll probably load some of it up on the net someday.
hey, i found your blog through your sig file in warrior forum. you replied to my post about quitting internet marketing. lol
anyway, i appreciate the comment you left and you are definitely right in your assessment of my situation.
i just wanted to let you know that you have an AWESOME blog here. seriously, i was ready for bed, but i’ve been up watching your videos and reading your entries. so, mucho kudos to you, my friend.
Right on Michelle. Thanks for the compliments.
Hi Jason,
I clicked on your spy van link on Facebook and found myself noodling around your blog. Love what you’ve done with the place!
Gotta try me some zipline some day soon – looks like a blast!

Hi Jason,
Thanks for visiting the Flightline. As the design/build/part owner of this project it is good to see people going to the park and supporting conservation (1/3 of the revenue goes to a conservation fund; 1/3 to Zoological Society and the other 1/3 is split between the Osoyoos Indian Band and Greenheart Conservation Company (www.greenheart.ca). Most people don’t get the fact that conservation can be a great ride and you are welcome to come visit one the best Flightlines in the world in Boulder City, NV (www.bcflightlines.com) when have a chance.
all the best,
Ian
Flightline is an awesome experience but the cost is too costly. I think that is really sad because more people could enjoy the experience @ a less cheaper price. Come on now lets not be greedy! So very sad to charge so much.
