The video did what it was supposed to do – get a response from viewers – like or not – the Rich Jerk does knows his stuff, does hype right and makes money doing it. While I dislike his character, I am not going to let that stop me from learning a bit here and using some of these ideas in my own online businesses. To me he is the internet marketing equivalent to WWF Friday Night Smackdown – which I do not like but know many others do and it makes money. Jason I am a big fan of your stuff – keep up the great work.

I bought the Rich Jerk’s book when it first came out. His product makes the claim, “The Most Complete eBook…” yada yada yada. Which is absolutely false. What’s more, the rich jerk philosophy may make you laugh at first, but when you think about it, his philosophy is not good for human beings. “You’re a loser.” Is that the kind of person you want to associate with? Is this how you want to represent yourself? I don’t feel the rich jerk really delivers a decent product. I think his philosophy is a dis-service to our society, and especially to youth. As a writer and a marketer, I do what I do with a conscience, and I try to bring out the best in others. I do my best to help them grow as marketers and as people, with respect for what is true, what is good, and what is noble. This may be a bit idealistic. But think what would happen if everyone took this approach to life. Since we are all connected, we are the company we keep. Part of the way we define ourselves is through our relationships. I do my best to connect with what is good and noble in others, not their lowest common denominator. We all have our heros and who we desire to emulate. Needless to say, the rich jerk is not someone I want to model, much less associate with.
C’mon, Big Willy, RJ is as American as Halliburton, WorldCom, Enron and apple pie.
