For the last few weeks I’ve been beta testing the heck out of Kajabi. I want you to know that this review is 100% based on experience of use. I’m not sure how many solid reviews you’re going to get because there is only so many beta testers that have actually used Kajabi and have experience with it.

So just what is Kajabi and why should you care about it?

Kajabi is a platform and content management system that helps marketers store and deliver content, set up product launches, squeeze pages, sales pages, run membership sites and so much more. It’s basically the tool that I’ve been wishing I had for the last five years.

Those of you that know me know that I’m not much of a technical wizard. In fact, I just learned how to install plugins on this WordPress blog about a month ago. Yeah, I’m that far behind. However, with Kajabi everything is very simple and intuitive so that even a guy like myself can organize and display my content in just minutes. Simply dragging and dropping the categories and content has never been easier.

Over the next week the boys at Kajabi will be releasing a series of videos showing the ins and outs of Kajabi. You’ll get a much better idea of what the platform can do once you see it in action with your own eyes. I was going to create some walk thru videos but I have a feeling the videos they’ll produce will be a million times better.

So who are the boys behind Kajabi? Well, you probably know the Video Boss Andy Jenkins already. On his team are two amazing guys that I’ve been friends and partners with on a variety of projects. In fact, they are the same guys who built my old Find That Tweet game. Their names are Kenny Rueter and Travis Rosser and I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about them in the near future. Simply put, these guys are geniuses. Not only are they geniuses but they are some of the most sincere and hard working guys I’ve met in this industry.

After 3 solid weeks of testing out Kajabi I am beyond thrilled. Finally I don’t need a high priced tech guy, designer and CMS guru who basically has me held hostage to their skills. With Kajabi I can actually do everything myself or easily oversee someone with a good understanding of what is going on. Personally, that makes me feel much more secure than totally relying upon someone else.

The video upload is simple. Building new content pages is a breeze. The social interaction within the site is superb. Comment moderation and discussion between members in incredibly valuable. There are just too many good things to say about Kajabi right now from my personal experience.

  1. Jason,

I know I can’t wait for the release later today. I have also received info about Kajabi from Andy Jenkins who is right up there as far as I am concerned.

Plus, how can it be bad with the letters a b i in it.

    Best,
    Abi

  2. I’m trying to think of something cool to provide folks to make sure they try out Kajabi if it sounds like something they need. I was thinking of maybe paying the first month fee for them? Hmm.

  3. Sounds like just the ticket for me, although I consider myself pretty technical I paid someone to build me a membership site and after agreeing exactly what integration was needed, I’ve got something which doesn’t work properly due to three modules blah blah blah not working with Joomla 1.x.x, broken account and security synchronisation and other modules that break when Joomla is upgraded and also having to keep aweber separate…. After all that money, I’m left with a broken site, no way to fix it and an “expert” who won’t return any emails….

I want something integrated, I want it to work and save me time and I want some confidence in the product. I’d love to test it and report back on whether it works!!!

  4. Dude,
Okay I try to keep my expenses low for now, but seriously think I’m gonna buy Kajabi through you.

Should be worth it as the launch is almost here and this should help tremendously with it.

  5. >Well, you probably know the Video Boss Andy Jenkins already.

Hahaha…. um, yes. “The BOSS” is being ridiculed mercilessly as a result of a leaked phone call he had with Jeff Walker where he talks about his original Video Boss launch. He comes across as a crass, greedy, insecure man. Kajabi looks cool though, and the way I see it, if a software tool is genuinely useful and good then it should be judged on its own merits. I like you Jason and if you think the product itself is good, I’m willing to be open minded and consider Kajabi. But it’s just hard for me to take “the BOSS” seriously or to think of him without laughing. I wish Kajabi had been your product.

    1. “But it’s just hard for me to take ‘the BOSS’ seriously or to think of him without laughing.”

I haven’t heard the Jeff Walker phone call, but you would no doubt agree that all of us have probably had bad days, yes?

I’m not going to get into the details, but I can personally attest to Andy’s sincerity and generosity.

It’s odd to me that someone would put up a barrier to learning and benefiting from someone, just because of some perceived character flaw. If we’re supposed to write off the big guys because of things like that, then I suppose we should do the same to Gary Halbert. He went to prison, even. (Oh, the horror!) Yet, his materials and mastery of the field are far too valuable to ignore.

And so the same with Andy. He’s good at what he does. And we ARE in this to make money. What some people perceive as greed may simply be an enthusiastic comfort with money and a healthy expectation to get more and more of it. And what is money, after all, but paper? Just slips of paper. Don’t forget this is all just a game. I just hope to God that someone considers me to be greedy someday.

      1. Wow Markus. Are you actually attempting to have civil discussion or just trying to funnel some sales away from the Kajabi boys?

Business Catalyst actually looks pretty cool and I may even test it out at some point if I have time. It did crash my Firefox browser though once I started the video. I doubt very much it’s the EXACT same product though. I’ve been using Kajabi for a while now, and speak with the developers just about every day. One thing that I really like is that if I have a cool idea, and the guys like that idea they can include it into their service. I like having direct access to guys who are in the same industry and mind frame as I. Kajabi is built for internet marketers in mind.

I don’t doubt that Adobe has created an amazing product in Business Catalyst. But they definitely aren’t the same thing.

  6. I understand the shift to cloud computing. Inevitable, but other dangers come to mind.

If anything happens to the online company, all of your work could be lost. I don’t mean real time scaling of bandwidth and redundancy, I mean if the company and programmers running kajabi go bankrupt and cease operations.

Kajabi appears best for marketers with their own products or membership sites, and it does seem to solve the Clickbank refund problem.

I would be curious if all Clickbank products could be streamed and coded until the end of the refund period. I can’t tell if this product would be useful for affiliate marketers without products of their own.

If the price turns out to be $97 a month, people can live with that, but I would run a shadow site on WordPress or some other CMS platform on my own servers.

    1. Valid concern. Fortunately I’m friends with the nice Christian boy programmers. They aren’t up and running anywhere. Even if they did they would never leave their customers high and dry. It’s just not their style.

I’m not sure how useful it would be solely for affiliate marketers.

      1. Hey, I’ll jump in here to say that while I totally understand your concern, and would think the same thing myself if I was evaluating it, we firmly believe that our customer’s data belongs to them. Kajabi would not just pack up and walk off into the sunset with your data. If Kajabi ever ceased operations (which I can’t even imagine happening), we would find a way to make our customers’ valuable data available to them.

  7. this is gonna create more lauches cause your guys gonna get too excited using kajabi… lol… its gonna creat a frenzy..
quick question thoug jason… do you have to continuously use the products even after the launch and still paying that amoun.. just want to know thanks

  8. Does anyone have experience actually running members through you content on Kajabi? I am about to stake livelihood to it and would love to hear that it si reliable.

I was about to pull the trigger on a learning management system platform that was going to cost me 100k no matter which vendor I went with. Plus I was going to be subjected to 6 months of conference calls with consultants and developers so I could tell them about my course and they could design and build it. I held off for months making a decision because I couldn’t find any examples of courses that were interesting and engaging using older platforms. I started with Kajabi last month and have figured out how to build my course with a little help from a friend. So far it works great and the content is allowed to shine (or suck) on it’s merrits.
