It’s all in the Relationships

This email I sent out today is getting a lot of good feedback, so I figured I’d slap it up on the blog. Take a quick read…

Hey Ya'll,

Last week I was interviewed by my friends
Dustin Struckman and Joe Jablonski for a
product called JV Source...

In that interview I dropped a BOMB about
how I personally attain lasting relationships
with big time guru's across the globe.

It's nothing like what most people talk about.

For instance, I think going to seminars to talk
about business is pure rubbish.  I think trying
to do deals with all these guru's is foolish.

And constantly worrying about getting a promotion
to one of these guys lists should be your last
thought.

You see, not very many people actually care about
creating true friendships.  Friendships that go
beyond a joint venture mailing.  They are too busy
trying to stuff their pockets with money and not
focusing on the real source of power with joint
ventures.

Truthfully, I'd rather create friends over business
partners.

And this is where so many people get it wrong.

If you find me at a seminar and start talking to me
about your motorcycle business right away, I'll
likely be totally uninterested.

But come talk to me about how you did a back flip on
your motorcycle yesterday and how you'd love to take me
out riding and now you are talking.

Everyone and their mother is getting pitch after pitch
after pitch.  And these pitches are straight fastballs
that are coming in high and tight.

You don't want to over power people when pitching. It
needs to be elegant. It needs to be a lobbed softball
that allows the hitter to slam it out of the park.

But most are not that smooth.

Anyhow, in this interview I did with Dustin and Joe I
was totally in left field talking about things that
most people never associate with business.

Stuff like getting your home life straight before your
business.

Get this...

If your wife or girlfriend isn't happy at home, it's
very doubtful you'll bring much to the table when dealing
with me.

Why?

Because if you can't take care of the most important
things at home, it's very doubtful I'll give two shits
about what your business is. I simply don't care.

I like to deal with kick ass people that know how to really
take care of others.  I enjoy honest, admirable, and
real deal characters that shine outside of business.

When they do that, then I'll maybe care about their business.

But if you can't accomplish the most important elements
of life with yourself and your family, then I have a good
inclination you'll probably not make a good JV partner
with me.

And this is very different from most marketers because most
of them just care about the money.

I'm drastically different.

All I care about is the relationship.

And I want that relationship to be real, non-psuedo, and one
that rewards both parties.

So, I went off the deep end ranting and raving in this
interview about how to really seal the deal with people
in business.

And oddly, it has very little to do about business.

If you'd like to hear that interview, and learn how to
land serious JV parnters, then my friends Dustin and Joe
have set up a members site that will show you all the
ropes.

Plus, you get to hear my unique angle on how I landed
deals with just about every big time guru on the planet.

It's very counter intuitive, a bit self helpish, and
totally puts people on the spot to be a better human
being.

Dustin and Joe go live today at 9 am.

PS: Dustin really has something special about the way
he works with people.  I have a cool story in the interview
about how one guy asked me for my phone number and I
instantly told him I didn't give out my number.

2 minutes later I met Dustin for the first time and he got
my number in less than 5 minutes.

Why was he able to get my number while the other dude failed?

  1. JMo,

I’ve found this to be true. THe more personal a relationship I have with someone the more likely they are to care.

This can be done through Skype or the telephone to get good results.

But of course, the ultimate is doing fun stuff with them in-person. Motorcycle riding and snowboarding are 2 excellent options.

Way to bring this concept out in the open.

  2. Great post man, just got the email and saw this on Twitter.

Lots of people get too into the next big deal or making a profit and completely bypass this most important thing.

I made a post this morning about it (funny) and if you can’t build a relationship, a genuine one at that, you might as well get into telemarketing.
