Every huge marketer I know that makes a ton of cash does so because of one major thing…

A LIST OF PEOPLE TO SELL TO!

If you don’t have a list, let’s face it, you are at a severe disadvantage.

Case in point: I sent out a 12 line email to a 7600 person list today, and at 4:46 PM right now, it’s done $830.44 in about 6 hours. (That’s my affiliate commission, 100% profit).
Now, by the end of the day it will probably be around $1200 or much more. Not too shabby for 4 minutes worth of work hey?

But I’m not trying to brag here. I just want people to build darn lists so we can make more money together.

  1. Hi Jason,

    You know a lot of the top dogs in this business… what’s your take on the “single opt in” versus “double opt in” debate? Frank says he only goes with single opt in, then you have guys like Mike Filsaime going the double optin path. Can you help me (us) make sense of this one way or the other? What’s your opinion?

    I only do the single opt in. Going double opt in forces you to lose too many subscribers.

    However, when you have huge lists like Filsaime does it sometimes makes sense to do the double opt in thing because he is bound to get lot’s of complaints due to the sheer size of his list.

    Also, many of these guys are hosting their own autoresponders or have lists on services like 1 shopping cart, and if they don’t use double opt in the deliverability often sucks.

    However, I’ve never had a problem with single opt in and using Aweber.

    I wouldn’t recommend anyone use anything but Aweber because I have been monitoring emails for the last couple years, and Aweber emails never go into the spam folder.

    However, occasionally, if you choose to use double opt in with Aweber, the confirmation email does land in the spam folder.

    That right there is enough reason for me to say “Screw Double Opt In”.

    As long as you are leaving a message at the end of your email stating that they are receiving this message cuz they opted in, and give them the chance to opt out, you are cool.

    In the short term, single opt in is more profitable.

    However, a double opt in list can be worth a bit more money if you were to sell it.
