Last month Lana and I were filming a silly video short for Comedy Central with my buddy Kyle Cease and we started to discuss viral videos. If you aren’t familiar with Kyle, you should definitely check out his site and opt into his mailing list at www.kylecease.com
The chat we were having was about “Speed Of Implementation” and how you needed to be ready to film spoofs at a moments notice. You may see something breaking on the news, get a great idea, and need to be ready to start filming and editing right away while the story is still hot. Well, this is about the hottest thing on the internet right now and Kyle quickly got to work and came up with this spoof…
The story of the real Ted Williams with the golden tongue is pure amazing. Everyone has been captivated by this fellow. And rightfully so. His story is nothing short of incredible considering just days ago he was pan handling on the streets of Ohio. Today he’s receiving more work offers than he can possibly take on. Good for him.
Anyhow, back to the idea of Speed Of Implementation. If you’ve ever seen Eben Pagan’s “Get Altitude” seminar you may of seen him talking about this concept. He suggested that those who are quick to create content are much more likely to succeed then those who sit around and try to plan the perfect scheme. While he was giving this speech from the stage I began to make a blog and follow his instructions. Before the lunch break I had a new blog up, and had made around $500 or so (can’t really remember the exact number).
I mentioned it to him after lunch and he brought me up before the crowd to share my story. It was a pretty exciting experience. Soon after, dozens in the crowd started sharing their results of their quick implementation tests. Lots of people raked in some serious coin by quickly implementing the advice they were given.
So, I just wanted to congratulate Kyle on quickly getting this Ted Williams spoof up so quickly, and for having such a positive impact on my life in 2010. He’s one of the most amazing guys I’ve ever met and he’s doing some incredible videos right now about commitment (he just did 90 days straight on raw food while doing P90X, and filmed a documentary about it), and a bunch of stuff on battling stage fright.
I can’t wait to show you some of the things he’s been privately doing behind the scenes. I believe it will motivate a lot of people to do some stellar things in 2011.
So, if you haven’t already check out Kyle’s blog and sign up for his mailing list (don’t worry, he almost never mails and barely ever pitches anything. He’s a comedian, not a marketer). You’ll be glad you did.
And, maybe you could help us try to get this video going viral. Think we can hit 50,000 views in a couple days? I bet we can!
Help us out and share on Facebook, Twitter, or your favorite social media channels.
Peace

Haha, fantastic. I saw Kyle a while back on comedy central, he was pretty awesome!
Cheers Jmo.

Just amazed at how fast something can happen if done correctly. I’m also how long things drag on when they don’t get done properly, it takes a hell of a long time trust me. Another amazing story from Jmo thanks!
Hilarious!!!
Thanks JMO!
Right on Jason, that’s what we try to do with our newsspoofs.com website. When a politically charged story comes out, my partner and I argue for a few minutes, come up with a concept, and then design and put up a new tee shirt and coffee mug design. We buy some adwords while the key word is still cheap, and up go the hits! Video sounds like a real plus with this concept, do you think this would work for us?
thanks as always for presenting great ideas,
Dan Belick

That’s such a classic spoof. You’re so right about the speed of implementation. Every time I just do what needs to be done, it always gets me better results than spending a ton of time planning the perfect attack plan. Think it’s mainly because when I’m just doing it, I get a lot more done and out there in front of people which gets me more attention. Good stuff here.
nice spoof.
