BUT THERE’S BEEN A BIG PROBLEM….
———————————–

Sites like YouTube and Vimeo will BAN your account if they see you doing anything commercial. So what is the alternative? Most marketers tell you to use a service like Amazon S3.
Problem is, it’s a freaking beyotch to learn how to use Amazon S3.

Trust me, don’t try it on it’s own or you may rip your hair out. I can’t understand why Amazon hasn’t made it easier for us. They’d make a killing.

Fortunately, Josh Bartlett has with…

  1. Hey Jason,
If you are in the Santa Barbara area and want to have a drink give me a call…Have some thoughts on IM that I would like to talk with you about, having to do with personal philosophies…. Thanks!

    1. Hey Allison,

I’m only going to be back in California for a very short while. In a hurry to do a few things, then on the road, seeing new stuff. Thank you though. And i erased the number for ya.

  2. Jason… here’s the problem.

    I’m lazier than you.

Me, handle affiliate tax issues? Screw that…

Me, ship physical stuff to customers? Screw that…

Me, figure out who owes sales taxes? Screw that…

    So I use ClickBank.

Trouble is, this Easy Video Player you’re
pushing doesn’t even work with ClickBank, even
though the guy selling it is USING ClickBank
    to sell the product.

Duh… this guy needs to talk to his programmers
and get the product to work with ClickBank.

      1. Sorry, I’m a ClickBank vendor
who was interested in doing a
direct video pitch for one of
my products and having the CB
buy now button be embedded right
        in the video.

        I didn’t realize Easy Video
        Player was exclusively intended
        for ClickBank affiliates. That
        really sucks and is totally
        dumb because apparently a PayPal
buy now button can be embedded
right into the video… so why
not a ClickBank buy now button?!

No biggie… I realize there are
a lot more affiliates than vendors
out there, and that the guy who
made this is probably just catering
        to the masses.

          1. Hmmm…. see, I wouldn’t want the visitor to have to go to a long-form sales letter page… the VIDEO itself would be the sales latter…

But here’s a possible angle… send the visitor via your own affiliate link to page that then just redirects to the payment page. Possibly the answer… but it would be super cool if a regular “buy now” style button could be implemented in version 2 of the product (if there ever is a version 2).

I basically use CB for everything since they take care of so much of the background overhead stuff… I wish this guy would have, in addition to PayPal, included the option to have a CB buy now button.

          2. I bet you there is some work arounds. When I have a moment I’m going to try and see if I can get that exact thing done. I’m sure he could code it in really easy. Problem is, it may violate Clickbank’s Terms Of Service and since he’s selling via Clickbank he probably doesn’t want to do anything sketchy with them.

  3. Easy Video Player is amazing! I’ve been using it for quite a while now and it makes using video so damn simple!

I’m not sure what Larry means by the fact that it doesn’t work with Clickbank… I’ve used it to promote several Clickbank products. It works like a charm.

Anyway, love the blog. EVP is awesome!
    Matt

  4. OH Man…
I just read your email about Easy Video Player, but I already bought it earlier today. Didn’t get a bonus–wasn’t looking for one.

But hate that I didn’t know you were promoting it–I would have gone through your link, Jason.

Anyway, I joined Amazon S3 a few weeks ago to host my videos–who in the world is in charge of this mess–I gave up and decided to go back to it some other time.

But hopefully now, the Easy Video Player will make setting it up a breeze. Can’t wait to use the player in my marketing–no more having to worry about YouTube restrictions!

    Tom

    1. That’s a really good question. I don’t know the answer. But I sure as heck wanna try and find out. Had the time right now I’d give it a shot. Maybe I’ll ask someone in my mastermind to give it a shot.

  5. Hi Jason,

So Matt says it DOES work with Clickbank products – a good thing.
Does Amazon S3 charge a monthly fee normally ’cause Josh is saying we never pay after the initial product cost, unless we continue with the membership.

What do we tell newbs as far as getting signups right “on the video” for growing their list(s), cause they’ll need a giveaway bribe of some type. What will be the simplest way to go and grow it?

We all want to continually market to the folks, not “just” get the single affiliate sale and never see our buyers again – (as great as that can be!)

    Thanks & Happy New Year!

    Paul

    1. Hey Paul,

Yes, Amazon does charge a monthly fee. The fee is dependent upon how much bandwidth you use. It’s pretty cheap, but makes sense to keep your videos sizes as minimal as possible.

As far as a bribe to get the opt in, here’s what I would do….

      Make a 2 part video.

Give them part one for free, and make it have a cliff hanger moment at the end, and a “To Be Continued” type thing for part 2. If someone has invested the time to make it through video one and enjoyed the content, it’s likely they’ll sign up for the next video.

  6. If you’re using Easy Video Player, would you still need a service like Traffic Geyser or Tube Mogul? Are they different because they’re really more about distribution? Trying to understand the overlap here and figure out funds to allocate.

    1. Annemarie,

We are talking about 2 totally different beasts here. Traffic Geyser or Tube Mogul are essentially just distribution models to all the video sites. This player works with just Amazon S3 not Youtube, Viddler, Vimeo, etc. Most of the sites Traffic Geyser submits to don’t allow blatant pitch or sales videos. Of course you seem them all the time, but they are against the terms of service for most of the video hosting sites, which is why marketers rely on hosting their own videos via S3 or on their own servers to avoid getting accounts shut down.

  7. Hey Jason, Sandy Hall here..

First, I’m a big fan of you & your marketing techniques.
You inspire a whole lot of Marketers around the world.

I’m also planning on getting EVP later on today.

I already use another video software: ArticleVideoRobot
Which is also easy to use, and also submits my videos to
17 video sharing sites. (Similar to Traffic Geyser)

Using that in conjunction with Easy Video Player,
sounds like it’ll make my marketing a whole lot easier.

Thanks for the EVP review Jason
I’ll definitely give this a try.

    Success & Smiles
    Sandy Hall
    ==========

  8. Thanks for initially bringing this to my attention, I got my copy yesterday and am looking forward to playing with it soon. I was previously using ezs3 & s3 but I’d definitely prefer a single payment solution and considering all the options it adds this was a no brainer!

  9. Just gave it a test in Facebook then, and no go. Seems that FB use their own version of Javascript (FBJS or something like that) which is incompatible with the kind of script that EasyVideoPlayer uses.

I’m sure that you can create a separate page and load it in an iframe though, pretty sure that would work fine, but would be a pain to set up.
