I’m not sure if you are aware of this statistic, but roughly 1 out of 150 kids born today run the risk of getting Autism. When I heard these numbers, I was insanely shocked. How could so many kids be getting this disease? If you don’t know what Autism is, I encourage you to please spend a few moments to educate yourself on this immensely important issue.
Family’s with Autistic children have a incredibly hard task to deal with, and to be honest, today’s society doesn’t make it
much easier on them either. Have you ever seen a kid in a public setting that acts up, has no patience, and seems to defy every word their parent says? Many times, people assume the problem is bad parenting. The problem is, with many Autistic children there is no obvious physical characteristics that allows people to see the child has challenges. They look just like a normal kid, but tend to have behavioral challenges that most people are not used to.
I have about a half dozen friends who have worked with Autistic children for most of their lives, so I’ve been aware of this problem for over 10 years. Sadly, not too many Americans are really educated on the issue. This is something that we all need to bond together on, and figure out a way to help these kids and family’s who have to deal with Autism.
