Kami and I were really excited this morning because today was the day the piano company was delivering the piano that I bought for her birthday. You can see a pic of our piano room by clicking here.
One cool thing about the piano is that when you prop it open, it displays her middle name “Nelson” and mine “Everett”. When we saw that, we knew it was our piano. Hopefully we’ll become a modern day Sonny & Cher and sing love duets and all that cool jazz.
Anyhow, I’ve never really played piano. I started taking the lessons in the Apple Garageband last night, so I’m really green. I wish I had learned a lot earlier as it would of made learning guitar and understanding music theory way easier. Having all the keys in a chromatic scale is very helpful.
So, today I sat down and forced myself to learn Coldplay’s Viva La Vida intro. It’s nothing spectacular, but hey, I’ve only been playing for a few hours now.

That’s why we got the piano. Last night I broke out the Taylor nylon acoustic/electric and we played a bit together.
And yeah, I have musical ADD. I play on the guitar, bass, drums, turntables, ukulele, emcee on the mic, now piano, harmonica, etc etc.
I can fiddle with all of em, but am master at none.

I learned that to actually get the girl that I loved to be my girlfriend. LOL.
BTW, Viva La Vida is not an easy song to play. Good job mate. 🙂

Viva La Vida is one of my favorite songs – just downloaded the ringtone. If you can learn a little bit more, you can upload it to YouTube and have 14 yr old girls leave you comments. 🙂
