People look in many places for inspiration. Some go to church, others a mosque. Some just like to throw the frisbee with their dog. In a time when I think we’ll all agree a little inspiration is needed, today is a great day for one man, and mankind as well.

The example that Lance Armstrong has just set for the entire world is beyond the accomplishments of 99% of all athletes who’ve ever lived. Many will argue that bicycle riding is not a “real sport”, but many are just idiotic fools too.

Considering I made a living on my bicycle for many years, I have lots of love for the good ol “Bike”. I was a pedicab driver, and a bicycle tour guide at Maui Mountain Riders in Maui Hawaii.

But my love for bikes is not why I’m so impressed with Lance. Lance Armstrong has battled through something that most of us will never have to go through. Tests revealed advanced testicular cancer that had spread to his lungs and his brain years ago. Do you think that stopped Lance nope.

He battled that cancer and beat it. That right there is the big story. Way to go Lance….but wait, hold up, that’s not even close to the end of the story. He decided to win 7, yes Seven, VII, Tour De Lance titles. You know your the man when they name the entire tour after you.

I’m not sure how many of you know the immense physical demand a bike ride like that takes?
Trust me, I used to pedal my ass off, sometimes with over 700 pounds in my trailer on my bike.
I know what I’m talking about. I doubt I could of beat Lance on a moped. That guy is amazing.

I can’t possibly think of a better thing to blog about today than Lance Armstrong. An inspiration, a champion, and a warrior. Way to go buddy. Yellow jersey all the way!!!!!

“I’m sorry you don’t believe in miracles. But this is a hell of a race,” he said. “You should believe in these athletes, and you should believe in these people. I’ll be a fan of the Tour de France for as long as I live. And there are no secrets — this is a hard sporting event and hard work wins it.” Lance Armstrong July 24th, 2005.
