Few people truly grasp the real power of compelling and effective copywriting. Many think they can simply create a kick ass product, write a sales letter, and shove traffic to it and BAMM… it’s time to sip fruity drinks on the warm white sands of Hawaii.
Haha, far from it. Yet most internet marketing guru’s seldom tell you just how important the copy really is. They are too busy shoving their SEO, Pay Per Click methods, or Software Building programs down your throat instead of focusing on the one true thing that will help you cash in better then anything.
I’m talking about copywriting and the power of persuasion in print. However, copywriting is in no way limited to just the print medium. Just about everything is copy.
Remember when you were trying to whisper sweet nothings into some beautiful blondie’s ear while making out in the back of your Camaro at the drive in movies? You’d say anything to be able to slide those sweet pink panties off her hips and past her ankles.
Those convincing words coming out of your mouth at that moment, yep, it was copy.
And when you are fighting a traffic ticket in court and presenting your best case to the judge to prove your innocence. That’s copy too.
And when you tried to convince your parents that they should help pay for college. That’s copy as well.
Most people might know me as the guy who makes silly videos as opposed to the guy who writes killer copy. However, even those videos are a perfect example of copywriting in action. Those videos have to present a offer, are layered with verbal cues intended to elicit a action, and they build relationships just like you would when writing a letter.
I hope you understand that just about everything you do is COPY!
But for some reason people are deathly afraid of the idea of having to write a sales pitch, yet they do it unconsciously everyday. Also, copywriting does not seem super glamorous or exciting to most people.
However, if you adjust the way you think about copy and writing, it can be a riveting and exciting experience. Once you realize that you can “get your way” with a few words here and there it’s a light bulb moment that never dims.
I’ve never really worried about making the bills, going broke, or having my business go into the shitter because I’ve always known… “I can just write some good copy to dig myself out of the rut”.
I wish everyone had the same feeling, and had confidence in their ability to pick up a pencil and create income on demand. And keep in mind, I’ve had all my success with lists that are under 10,000 people. The art of communicating with these people is actually quite simple for me now. Sadly, that’s not the case for most marketers out there.
I want that to change for you. And it needs to start now.
The more effort you put into becoming a better copywriter, the easier everything in your life becomes. Because remember, it’s all about persuasion in many forms. It is not just writing some salesletter.
Right now, I want you to check out a free report called “The Copywriting Conspiracy” put together by Anthony Flores at the Clayton Makepeace headquarters.
Listen, I’m gonna tell you straight up front, these guys are going to try and sell you something soon. And I want you to watch exactly how they do it. And be careful, because they are DAMN GOOD.
However, right this moment they are giving away this report and a few others for free that really explain why copywriting is such an essential tool you MUST HAVE to succeed with longevity in this game.
I want you to pick up a copy and read it, then read it again. It is that important.

There’s a huge difference between the “A Level” writers and the “B Level”. And without mentoring or studying under a “A Level” dude, it’s unlikely most will ever grasp the most important talent in all of marketing.
I want you to have that talent. I want you to succeed and not give up on projects that should be winners but are just lacking a few simple tricks that could sky-rocket your conversions.
Do yourself a huge favor and check out what Clayton Makepeace is putting together at…

PS: There are only a few dudes I really, really, really think are at the top of game in copywriting. And many of you know I don’t even like to read that much.
Clayton Makepeace is one of those dudes, and I actually enjoy reading his stuff. Not only do I enjoy it, it sparks ideas in me that help me to make a ton of loot. And I’m sure you can do the same.
Take action today and read this report…

LOL. We could only get something like this from you Jason.
“Remember when you were trying to whisper sweet nothings into some beautiful blondie’s ear while making out in the back of your Camaro at the drive in movies? You’d say anything to be able to slide those sweet pink panties off her hips and past her ankles.”
That being said good copy can work wonders. I’ve read a fair amount of Joe Vitale on the subject and always like to see other points of view. Should be interesting to look at!
Good call Jason!
This is something I really need to learn more about, putting more of a focus on copywriting. Just read some of the report, looks great.
Thanks for posting this for us!
Jason, you make some great points.
One problem people may have with copywriting is that you can read classic sales letters that have produced great results, but people may not know how to apply what they might learn from that to writing copy for their own product, especially if it’s a totally different product.
For example, here’s a great ad that sold lots of Wheaties in the 1970s… how do I apply that to selling my ebook about knitting sweaters?
I think some of your examples are a bit of a stretch, like the car one… is it really just the words the guy says in that situation that determine how far he gets, or is it a lot of other factors, like his looks, personality, cologne, or whatever else? A nerd saying the same words as you would probably not do as well!
Jason, You’re new blog theme looks great. Very professional.

Ack, sorry about that double post. I saw my typo and hit stop. It looked like I’d actually managed to catch it, so reposted with the correction, but alas…
Feel free to delete the first and this one. Hell, feel free to delete them all. LOL. You got the kudos I was trying to convey. That’s all that matters. 🙂
At first you think it is hype.
but as marketers we dont hear or see people online….thast why its your words that are important….to get across the message and to make the prospect hungry for what you are selling.
I have a copy already but you make some great points dude!!
Excellent post Jason. I agree with you 100%. You had me reminiscing about stumbling onto Dan Kennedy’s “The Ultimate Sales Letter”. That one book completely changed my life and eventually led me into this game we call “internet marketing”.
I was talking to a marketing buddy of mine about a week ago and we were discussing how those who come into IM from direct response marketing have a distinct advantage over those who do not; because when you have a background in direct response, you understand how essential great copy is to your success. And you put the proper focus into it…..as opposed to others who will spend all of their time trying to generate free traffic from Facebook or on the latest new IM flavor…but at the end of the day, if your copy is no good, you probably won’t make much money…or your success will be limited.
It’s great to hear this being addressed as I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen guys who just don’t “get it”. They seem to put too much focus onto traffic generation and not enough on how they will actually convert that traffic. I can honestly say that if it weren’t for all of the time I’ve invested in studying great copywriters, I would not be able to make a living in this business.
OK, I’ve gotta go grab this report and break out my Carlton and Joe Sugarman stuff…because I’m still far from A level! lol
Great stuff Jason. Thanks for the heads up on this.
Chris
