I Go Nuts For Crowds Celebrating. Go Anaheim Ducks!

One of the things that I truly adore in life is seeing people celebrate. It’s especially enjoyable when it’s tens of thousands of people participating at the same time. That’s why I love sports so much.

For just a few moments people are able to forget about their jobs, commitments, and dilemmas in their life. They are completety consumed with their team winning the big game! It’s tough to let worldly problems enter into your thoughts when the score is tied and there is only 17 seconds on the clock.

There’s nothing like playoff intensity in the sports world. The regular season doesn’t come close to matching the vibe of the post season. Recently I had the pleasure of attending my first San Diego Chargers game. It was a playoff game against the New England Patriots, and the crowd was nuts. We were all family (unless you were brave enough to wear a Pats jersey). The excitement in that building was electric, and we were all unified with one goal in mind.

Sadly, we all left super depressed. It’s a long story, but hey, you can’t win em all. If the disappointment wasn’t so great, the victory probably wouldn’t taste as sweet.

People put a lot of emotions into their sports teams. I’m not really sure why, but I don’t need an explanation. Just seeing random strangers hug and high five each other in celebration is a pretty cool thing in my opinion. This kind of activity needs to be experienced much more often for most people.

I’d like to ask you…

How often do you really celebrate? Do you scream at the top of your lungs and shout with joy and enthusiasm? Is your life full of fun and games?

If not, I strongly encourage you to give yourself permission to play.

Tomorrow I’ll be heading to my first NHL Hockey Game. Go figure, my first game and it’s the Stanley Cup Finals, and Anaheim is going to win the cup! My first game ever and it’s a freakin Stanley Cup Game. I feel like a spoiled brat.

I’ll admit, I’m not even a huge hockey fan. However, I’m a HUGE “Celebration” fan!

So hopefully, we’ll be listening to Kool And The Gang and screaming at the top of our lungs tomorrow night when the Anaheim Ducks slaughter the Ottawa Senators.

Sorry Canucks, The Ducks Control The Pucks!

Couldn’t agree more, I think it’s some primal, tribal thing about rooting for your own gang… and of course much more.

Just read that the Ducks won! Yaaaaayy! Finally my countryman and overall hero Teemu Selanne gets his ring…..

Can’t believe you actually got to be there. Lucky sob!

Your first game & you got to see your team hoist the Stanley Cup…SWEET!

Being Canadian I was cheering for Ottawa of course, but it was nice to see Selanne and Pronger finally win.

You must have had a blast Jason. Did you have a little bit of a hang over the next day?

Didn’t know you were a hockey lover Mo.

I live right near the epicenter of hockey, that being Toronto.

I played hockey as a kid in a small irish town called Lucan. Enjoyed every minute and now I have a sports blog and can still
    contribute my two cents worth.

    Thanks,

    Mark
