Moved in. Yay!

So I just got moved into our new home. I’m super thankful to have an office set up again and all my items within reach. Most of all I’m excited we have a back yard for our dogs to frolic around without us having to keep them leashed.

I got another days worth of unpacking left to do before we are totally settled in. So, I’m going to keep this short.

Lot of cool things are coming up this week and next so I want to get back to work and get them ready.

Cheers

Jason

San Diego’s Weird Summer Weather

San Diego’s weather this summer has been super weird!

We are pretty used to June Gloom and May Grey, but mid 60′s in August? This is super weird. San Diego seems to be boycotting this whole global warming thing.

What I’m Scared Of…

About 6 weeks ago I was in Florida and chatting on Skype with my buddy Larry. Larry asked me… “Hey, are you going to come to David’s Longevity Conference in Costa Mesa next month”? Considering I was about 3000 miles away I didn’t really see it happening.

However, I was drunk and in a pretty shitty mood that night. So I said… “Yes, I’ll be there”. And at that exact moment I decided to stop drinking alcohol so I could arrive 28 days later clean and serene. Sometimes I make instant and impulsive decisions. Well, most of the time would be a bit more accurate.

I enjoy living in the now and making my own rules as I go along this game called life. And at that moment, I was done with alcohol. I wanted something more. Something better. I also missed my friends and surfing immensely. The decision to head back west wasn’t a hard one to make.

My intention heading back to California was simply to take a break, power up and help Randy get some grounding with the whole internet business so he could support himself on the road. Then we’d be back on the highway exploring new stuff.

But after my first surf session with the guys, I realized that I love San Diego way too much to leave for long extended periods of time. All that time on the road sure made me appreciate my home. I guess the saying… “Absence makes a heart grow fonder” really is true.

Life in San Diego is just grand. Nothing compares. My peer group and friends here are the best anyone could ever dream for. The sun is almost always shining. There is almost always waves that are begging to be ridden and don’t even get me started about the massive abundance of cuties. I’m confused why any single man would live in Wisconsin or North Dakota after one glimpse of what California beaches have to offer. It’s pure heaven.

So are you done with your road trip Jason? That’s the question I keep getting asked.

The answer is NO. I’m a not done. I’ll be back out on the road again soon enough. However, I really felt like I needed to establish a home base. While on the road I was losing thousands of dollars each month by not having a stable internet connection and having access to many of the tools I need on my desktop computers.

My RV was insanely cluttered too. I packed way too much stuff. Now that I’ve emptied it out I have much more of a desire to get back in it. Also, my dog Webber seemed to miss home a lot. Hanging out in the RV for too long sort of bummed him out. Of course he loved pissing on new items all across the country, but I could tell he missed home too.

I also have a few clients that I need to help support and it’s sort of tough to do that on the road when you have a iPhone and shitty AT&T service. So it just seemed like a good move to get a apartment here in San Diego and figure things out as each day passes.

So, a full month had gone by and I didn’t touch a drop of booze. When I attended David Wolfe’s Longevity Conference I experienced the highest highs ever. I had been doing a dietary cleanse

Jason Moffatt & David Wolfe

Jason Moffatt & David Wolfe

the entire month and was down to only one meal a day before I got to the event. Once I arrived at the event I survived mostly on just smoothies alone. These smoothies and lack of food had me floating on cloud nine. I’m talking super jacked up.

Doing that sober streak was really worth it. I maximized that experience big time. After the conference was over and I had a full 30 days sober, I celebrated with a burrito, a Tecate and margarita. I didn’t feel one bit ashamed either. Of course it took away the vibrant glow and aura I had built up, but I see no point in feeling bad about myself.

Since then I really haven’t had a huge craving for beer or liquor. The memories of feeling so buzzed at the Longevity event reminds me that there is a better way to get high than drinking alcohol all the time. That doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy a cold squeezer on the beach from time to time, but getting sloshed has really lost it’s appeal to me. I’m sure it will become instantly appealing the next time I’m out on the dance floor with a hottie at 2 am though :)

My real reason for doing the sober streak and attending the Longevity Conference is because I’m about to turn 35 in two weeks. Truth is, I’m a bit scared of getting old. I know 35 isn’t old, but I’m freaked out about not having the physical endurance and stamina that I had in my twenties. It is my goal to be in the best shape of my entire life during my 35th year.

Surfing, a healthy diet, playing with my dog, Valslide exercises and some good loving is going to be the key to a amazing year.

Also, I watched a documentary a few months back about the brain and the effects that alcohol has on it. It scared the shit out of me. My biggest asset in my life is definitely my brain. My wits and quick thinking have provided me a life I never even dreamed was possible. I definitely don’t want to push the limits and kill every brain cell in my cranium. I still have some work to do on this planet and it’s going to take some clear vision to accomplish these things.

Anyhow, life is great. My dog is awesome. Friends are doing well. Business is good, even though I don’t even really have a business anymore, and I have a big crush that takes up 50% of my thoughts. Nothing like being giddy over a sweet lady.

I plan on putting up a few of my products onto Clickbank very soon now that I have a stable spot locked down. Affiliates have been asking me to do this forever, but I’m a silly slacker who’s not entirely motivated by money.

I’ll probably need a new virtual assistant to handle customer service though since Ryan has left to work with his church. The lack of having a assistant around has really curbed my desire to create more work or customers. It honestly stresses me out to deal with that kind of stuff, but I’m going to do my best because I know so many people want and ask for this info.

I’m also involved in a few niche products with friends that need some time and attention. I’m excited to create some more products away from the “how to make money world”. I think these new products will bring a lot of the fun back into marketing for me.

So, that’s just a quick recap of where I’m at, and what I’m doing. So many people had been asking so I thought I should clear the air.

Air cleared.

I’ll be back on the road someday soon. I still have a mission to fulfill. And I want to see Fenway Park. And Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park, and the Naked Cowboy at Times Square. I want to see it all. Including seeing you.

Til we meet, stay safe and smile.

Jason

Haiti & What You Can Do.

I have to admit, I hate the news. I try to never watch it at all since it’s filled with mostly atrocious stories about death, horror, theft, lies, deceit, etc. Thank god for the sportscasters and weathermen. They are probably the only thing keeping half of America from having a heart attack at 5:00 every day.

Since I avoid the news like the plaque, I don’t get all the gory details about what is going on in Haiti right now. I do however see all the chatter across the internet and it’s obviously horrible what is going on right now.

What else is horrible is the type of emails I’ve gotten from a variety of people on the issue. Scams, high pressure tactics that lack any finesse and more. At times like these it’s hard to know what charity is going to truly benefit the people of Haiti the most.

Anyhow, the best email I saw was one by my friend Bob Serling. He sent this out and I’m going to copy and paste it below. He’s hoping you will help out, and is going to give you a gift for participating.

What makes this plea more legit then those I’ve seen is that he’s going to give you something and isn’t asking for a email, or opt in, or anything like that. He’s just taking your word that you contributed and offering to help you out a little bit.

So, without further ado, here’s the email Bob has asked me to send out. I decided to send a email and do a blog post…

I don’t have to tell you that the earthquake in Haiti is one of the worst disasters we’ve ever seen.

CNN reports that more than 100,000 people are reported dead, there are bodies littering the streets, and countless people are trapped in the rubble in urgent need of being rescued. The situation is dire.

The people of Haiti need our help and they need it NOW.

So here’s what I’d like to do to help. First, I’m making a sizable donation myself to one of the

relief funds listed below.

Second, I’d like to ask you to make a donation too, of any amount. When you do, my friend and marketing expert, Bob Serling, will give you a free copy of one of his most popular and valuable reports ever, “The Marketing Repair Manual”.

I am NOT collecting your name or email address and will not benefit monetarily from this in any way. My only objective is to get as many people as possible to help in the relief effort.

Here’s how this works…

====================================

Step 1: Make your donation to any of these charities

====================================

The following charities have been recommended as exceptional sources of helping in the relief effort. Please click one of these links and make a donation of any amount. And remember, every dollar helps, regardless of how small or how large your contribution

is.

Here are the links to connect directly to these charities and make your donation:

Care

https://my.care.org/site/Donation2?5000.donation=form1&df_id=5000

Habitat for Humanity

https://www.habitat.org/cd/giving/donate.aspx?link=1&r=r

World Concern

http://www.worldconcern.org/haiti-earthquake/

AmeriCares

https://secure.americares.org/site/Donation2?df_id=1505&1505.donation=form1&linkid=topnav

IMPORTANT: If clicking any of these links doe not work, please cut and paste them into your browser and they will open up.

====================================

Step 2: Download your free copy of “The Marketing

Repair Manual”

====================================

When Bob first sold this manual for $97, he received the following unsolicited testimonial, which essentially says it all:

“Just read your manual and I’m not only blown away about the amount of information in such a quick, easy-to-read document…but how relevant it is to anybody running a business.

Actually Bob, I’ve read the manual three times in as many days (that’s how easy it is to get through it…and how much information is packed into it). I initially picked it up to get some ideas to improve the sales of my products. I’m now using it to completely rebuild how I’ve been marketing myself.

Bob, I think this manual should be the first thing anyone reads before they head off guns-blazing to do business. It shows exactly how to avoid the mistakes most of us make (or, if you’re like me, how to recover from them now that you realize you’re making them). It will save people that buy it a lot of frustration wondering why my things ”don’t work.”

It’s short; not an ounce of fluff, and it contains the blueprints to ensuring your marketing is doing what it’s suppose to — attracting qualified leads that’ll buy your products.

I’ve already used it to ditch an idea I’ve been banging my head against for the last month or so. I read your manual and realized I’ve been barking up the wrong tree. (Heck, not even in the right forest.)  It’s also totally changed how I look at copywriting and many new ideas at attracting my market.

Simply put, it’s your insurance policy against making the mistakes most would make without

it, or are currently making (like me) and want to figure out how to do it right. Thanks for making this available Bob!

- Brett Martinson

So, as you can see, it’s my feeling that this report will become one of the most valuable pieces in your marketing library. And it’s yours free if you’ll make a contribution of any amount to help out in this relief effort.

Once you’ve made your donation, just click the following link to download your free copy. The

only information you’ll be asked to enter is the amount you donated so we can track how much we’ve raised for the relief effort.

http://www.Power8Marketing.com/haiti-relief

You will NOT be asked for your name or email address and you will not be sold anything or

contacted ever based on this. Our only intention is to help relieve the suffering as much as we

can.

Thanks for all your help!

Regards,

Jason Moffatt

Got My Vanity URL From Facebook

Remember a couple of months ago when Facebook offered vanity URL’s to all Facebook users? Well, I was really bummed that day because some jack ass squatter had registered my name and was sitting on it. His name was something like Dick ButtKiss or something lame like that. It had nothing to do with Jason Moffatt.

Anyhow, I tried to contact Facebook numerous times to explain that I was the real Jason Moffatt and a quick check of my blog and the thousands of search engine listings would easily prove it.  I got no reply.

Fast forward a few months later until yesterday. I again contacted them to see if I could acquire my name as my vanity URL. They had banned the previous guy from using my name but sadly I still couldn’t register it. It was being held hostage by Facebook.

Thankfully, Facebook granted my wish and gave me the vanity URL. So I just wanted to say thanks and let everyone know that you can access my Facebook Fan Page at…

http://www.facebook.com/jasonmoffatt

Pretty soon I’ll end up hitting the friend limit of 5000 people on Facebook so this will be the only way for some to see what kind of random shenanigans I’m up to.

The Post I Didn’t Want To Make

I’ve been trying to figure out how to write this for a while now. Well, here goes.

With social media, blogs, Twitter, Facebook status updates and every other tool that  is readily available to broadcast your life, anonymity really is a thing of the past for those of us narcissistically whoring ourselves out in the public eye.

Those that follow us on social networks know intimate details about our lives, relationships, and even our business dealings.

But sometimes, there’s some shit you don’t wanna post on your Facebook Wall or Twitter. Nobody wants to write… “Ah shit, grandma is shooting black tar heroin again” or… “Uncle Jimmy just got out of the joint last night.”.

There’s some things that you just want to keep to yourself. Some things are better left unsaid.

Then there’s some things you just have to say because to not mention it is too freaking odd and confusing for everyone else. Even I’m confused and it’s my freaking life.

I’m confused because I am parting ways from the best woman I’ve ever known. She’s just incredible. Sweet, caring, talented, beautiful, selfless, and more. I could continue with flattering adjectives until my hands cramped up.

Despite being the coolest chic on the planet, Kameron and I came to the realization that we are not perfect life partners for each other over the long haul. We are totally different people. Diametric opposites. North Pole, South Pole different.

Kami w/ Gladys & J-Mo w/ Webber

Kami w/ Gladys & J-Mo w/ Webber

I like the sun and light, she likes the Celtic dungeon basement vibe. I like to surf and hang outside, she likes to nestle up in her safe coup inside. I like sports and ESPN, and she digs medical shows (I refuse to watch medical shows). I wanna go West, she wants to go East to Ireland.

And every bit of that is okay.

We both want each other to be true to ourselves and seek out that which will truly make us happy. What’s confusing is that we make each other so happy 99% of the time. So safe. So blessed. We don’t argue and bicker like most couples. In fact, we both thought we had the most healthy relationship of anyone we knew. But there was something still slightly missing.

I’ll always love Kameron. And I know she will always feel the same.  For the last couple weeks we’ve been trying to go through this break up in the most mature way possible. It’s actually been kinda weird. Funny weird and a good kind of awkward.

So awkward that we’ve even created the idea of a “Breakup BBQ”. She thinks it’s a hot idea. Others agree. Maybe we could create a new trend?

I don’t want anyone to feel sorry for me, or Kameron. We don’t consider this a failed relationship. In fact, we feel just the opposite. We both benefitted from each others company in a special way that neither of us would change. We grew so much because of each other. I’ m so proud of her. And so thankful for her presence.

As you can see, it’s kind of tough to release something you are so fond of. But it’s the right thing to do. We want to preserve the great relationship we have now by making sure we stay true to ourselves and seek out that which we really desire.

Me, I want to travel and screw off. Kameron not so much :(

I really didn’t want to have to make this blog post, but I’ve always been so open with my readers, I thought ya’ll should know. Most of you already know how darn awesome Kameron is from my blog posts, Twitter updates, or via Facebook.

Or maybe you’ve used her services at http://www.trendyebook.com or http://www.queenofmedia.com

The cool thing is, she’ll still be around. We still have a business together. We are still friends and love each other. (and not in that…. “Lets just be friends”  kind of way).  While we may not be perfect marriage material for each other, I want her on my side forever.

One of the things that attracted both of us to each other was how we both had good relationships with our exes. I think it says alot about someone when the majority of the exes still have a favorable opinion of them. I could have no fonder appreciation for everything Kameron has done for me during the last two years. It’s been the best two years of my life and I almost feel selfish wanting more.

Loving you forever,

Jason

Does Farrah Fawcett’s Hair Say Sex? RIP Farrah

Farrah Fawcett, who was a star on Charlie’s Angels was one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1970s. Unfortunately, she died today after battling cancer. She was 62. You can read the Yahoo farrah fawcett hair sexnews story here.

Just the other day my buddy Chris was talking about a photo in which Farrah’s hair displayed the word “SEX” in the photo. I doubt this was anything intentional, but it got me to thinking… It would be a damn clever maneuver to do it on purpose.

Anyhow, do you see the word “SEX” in her hair?  I’ve outlined where I see it.
